History Of The Lighthouse

Sally Fitchett founded The Lighthouse in September 1990. Until 1998, the school operated from two village halls.

In September 1998 we moved into a purpose-designed school in open countryside in Newington, South Oxfordshire. The two beautifully equipped classrooms, each has its own outside area. In addition there is a side room for Larks and Owls.

In 2008 we developed The Field to provide planting and digging areas, a mound, a log pile, and more.

The age range is now from 2 to 5 years.
