Lighthouse Books

This is a facility for children as they move on to ‘big’ school. 

We are very aware that many of the children at The Lighthouse are able to read – to varying levels – when they leave.  It is very important that they keep the love and enthusiasm to read throughout their lives.  We know that the pressures of the curriculum and method of teaching don’t allow one to one work to continue at many ‘big’ schools as we have at The Lighthouse. 

Thus we are offering ‘Lighthouse books’ to you.  There is an initial joining fee.  Then there is a small charge each time you borrow 5 or 10 books.  In addition we plan to offer spelling lists with handwriting tips (under development).

French

Bonjour! We offer 3 levels of French learning with Florence, a native French speaker. French is taught in a fun way, we look at greetings, counting, colours, stories and are even creating a French ice-cream parlour!
